A Twitter account has appeared online to share a number of 10 second clips featuring a dog and a young child, which many have speculated is a teaser for the upcoming John Lewis Christmas Advert.
The account – @Bouncing2016 – joined Twitter in September 2016, but has only posted 2 Tweets, both in the last few days. Both are videos featuring the dog and the little girl, and end with the words “Bounce Bounce” on screen, in what many are saying is the same font used by John Lewis in all of their other adverts.
The UK based department store’s Christmas Advertising Campaign has become a much anticipated event in the UK, with their narrative led, usually heart-wrenching adverts becoming synonymous with the festive season, and much like the iconic Coca Cola “Holidays are coming” Christmas Advert, it is seen as a sure sign that Christmas is coming!
The campaign typically premiers upon the first weekend of November, and after this student short film inspired by the John Lewis Christmas Adverts went viral online after being mistaken for this years campaign, the internet seems eager to see the real deal!
The British Electronic Group Vaults will provide the soundtrack to this years advert, a cover of Randy Crawford’s 1980 hit “One Day I’ll Fly Away”.
Until the 2016 advert premiers, reportedly in the coming days, you can get your festive fill by taking a glance back at the previous Christmas Campaigns here, where we ranked them from best to worst.
