Even though AJ McCarron was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals last week during the 2014 NFL Draft there’s a strong possibility his glory days are over. We’re not really sure what to make of his fiance Katherine Webb’s glory days, but one can imagine they’re short lived as well. It goes without saying that the couple has made the most out of their time in the spotlight, and as much as we’d like to poke fun at them – we can’t with this latest story.
According to reports, McCarron and Webb have asked Starla Chapman, a young cancer survivor to be their flower girl. McCarron’s mother Dee tweeted the news yesterday that the couple has decided to go away from the traditional route for Starla. McCarron’s meeting with Chapman was posted by Dee:
McCarron, a former St. Paul’s high school star in Mobile, had met Starla during a visit to University of South Alabama Children’s and Women’s Hospital on Christmas Eve 2011. Starla, the daughter of Korey and DeAndra Chapman of Bay Minette, was diagnosed with leukemia in September of 2011. Starla, an Alabama fan, gave McCarron a yellow wristband when they met.
When asked if Starla would be willing to be the flower girl her response was simple: Roll Tide! There’s no official date for the wedding that we know of between McCarron and Webb. They were engaged in March so our guess is they perhaps try to get married before the football season or after. We’re glad to see that they both used their time in the limelight for good!
